A Wedding Planned in Record Time

Some weddings take years to plan, but Maryanne wasn’t about to wait that long.

Just a few days after getting 💍 engaged, she reached out to me, looking for a 📸 wedding photographer.

What made this even more exciting? Maryanne had just gotten engaged a few days prior and was planning the wedding in only six weeks!

We quickly organised a Chemistry Test, and after getting a feel for each other’s vibes, we met at my studio for a consultation with Jack and Maryanne. From that meeting, it was clear that we’d work really well together.

Contracts were signed, deposits paid, and the countdown began.

With her background in 🎭 event management, Maryanne pulled off what many would call impossible: a flawlessly planned wedding for over 100 guests in just a few weeks.

Groom Prep: A Toast to New Beginnings

The day started at Maryanne and Jack’s home, where Jack was getting ready with his four groomsmen—two of Maryanne’s brothers and his two brothers-in-law.

Men in white shirts prepare for a wedding; adjusting ties and cuffs. Invitation and rings on a table. Bright room, greenery outside.

Laughter filled the air as they shared a few 🍻 beers and got dressed, easing into the excitement of the day.

We captured some classic formal portraits, but also plenty of relaxed, candid moments.

Men in suits and a woman dressed elegantly, preparing in a bright room. Peroni beer bottles on a counter. Joyful and lively mood.

To seal the occasion, they raised their glasses for a toast—a sip of Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 🥃 a fitting way to mark such a special day.

Bridal Prep: A First Look Full of Emotion

Meanwhile, Maryanne was getting ready at her parents’ home—the place where she grew up. Surrounded by her mother, sister, bridesmaids, and son Noah 👶, she was radiating joy.

What they hadn’t told me? A surprise first look with her parents was planned. Thinking fast, I positioned them facing away so that when Maryanne entered, they could turn around and take in the moment fully. Their faces lit up with pride and love—a memory frozen in time forever.

We took the time for some portraits with Maryanne’s parents and bridal party while capturing candid moments in between.

The Ceremony: Love, Family, and a Beautiful Surprise

Excitement filled the air as guests gathered, eagerly awaiting the moment Maryanne would walk down the aisle. Meanwhile, Jack and his groomsmen paced nervously at the front of the church, anticipation building with every second.

The ceremony began, emotions running high as Maryanne made her way down the aisle, hand in hand with her father and little Noah.

While the ceremony was taking place, suddenly, Maryanne’s grandmother arrived with the help of family, quietly taking her place among the guests. She has advanced dementia, and for the most part, remained quiet, watching the ceremony unfold with a distant but peaceful gaze.

The ceremony continued, full of heartfelt moments and meaningful traditions. As Maryanne and Jack exchanged vows and rings, the love between them was unmistakable.

Soon, the father pronounced them husband and wife, and they walked back down the aisle, beaming with joy.

As guests gathered around to congratulate the newlyweds, something truly remarkable happened.

Surrounded by love, laughter, and the energy of the celebration, Maryanne’s grandmother—who had been so reserved during the ceremony—suddenly came to life.

It was as if the sheer joy of the moment had awakened something deep within her. She smiled, engaged with family, and fully recognized the significance of the day. It was an unforgettable, deeply moving moment for everyone present.

With hearts full, we then made our way to Scarborough Beach for the next part of their incredible day.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Scarborough Beach, where the salty breeze mixed with the excitement of the day.

Maryanne and Jack stood together, surrounded by their loved ones, sharing laughter and excitement as they embraced the moment. With their family by their side, we captured classic, timeless portraits filled with warmth and love.

Once we had enough portraits with the bride and groom’s parents and Noah, they headed back, making way for the bridal party photos.

This was when the energy truly kicked up a notch, with laughter filling the air and the celebratory champagne splash marking a standout moment.

Next, we headed to Elizabeth Quay, where the whole bridal party had a private moment on the carousel. The lights flickered as they spun around, sharing laughs and playful glances.

From there, we wandered towards the Bell Tower, taking in the city’s charm. Every step was filled with natural moments—Jack adjusting Maryanne’s dress, a spontaneous kiss, a stolen glance.

At Stirling Gardens and the Supreme Court, we slowed down to embrace the quiet beauty of the setting. This was their moment—just the two of them—surrounded by lush greenery and the echoes of history. They didn’t want anything overly posed, so we let the love between them lead the way, capturing raw, heartfelt shots.

Finally, as the sun began to set, we made our way towards the State Library area, where the soft, golden light wrapped around them, making for a perfect transition before heading to the reception.

By the time we arrived at Perth City Farm, the energy was electric. As the bridal party made their entrance, Black Eyed Peas’ ‘I Gotta Feeling’ blasted 🎶—a perfect anthem to kick off the night.
