Some wedding days just have a good rhythm from the start.

Erin and Geordie’s Kidogo Arthouse wedding in March 2022 was exactly like that.
There was excitement in the air from the morning, the kind that comes when friends and family have travelled from different corners of the world to celebrate together. Everyone knew it was going to be a good day before the ceremony had even started.
Kidogo Arthouse in Fremantle was the perfect place for it.
If you’ve never been there, it’s one of those venues that instantly feels special. Historic stone walls, views across Bathers Beach, and the ocean are only a few steps away.
For a Perth wedding photographer, it’s also one of the most beautiful places in the city to tell a wedding story.
Getting Ready
The morning started quietly with Erin getting ready with her sister and her closest friend.
There’s always a mixture of excitement and calm during this part of the day. Hair and makeup being finished, dresses carefully hung up, the occasional deep breath as everything slowly becomes real.
Meanwhile, Geordie was nearby getting ready with his family and friends, adjusting his navy suit and pink boutonnière while sharing a few laughs before the ceremony.

One of my favourite quiet moments from the morning happened when Erin walked downstairs for a first look with her dad just before leaving for the ceremony.
It’s a small moment, but it’s often when everything finally sinks in.

Kidogo Arthouse Wedding Ceremony in Fremantle
The ceremony took place just outside Kidogo Arthouse, overlooking Bathers Beach.
Guests gathered on the wooden deck while the ocean stretched out behind the ceremony arch.
Fremantle was doing what Fremantle does best that afternoon. Gentle breeze, blue water, and the sound of waves in the background.
Then Erin arrived.
She walked down the aisle toward Geordie while their family and friends watched on, smiles spreading across the crowd as the moment unfolded.

They stood beneath a vibrant arch of pink flowers, hands held tightly together while they exchanged vows.
There’s something about beach ceremonies that feels very natural. No walls or ceilings, just the sky and ocean framing the moment.
When they exchanged rings and shared their first kiss as newlyweds, the cheers from their guests carried straight out across the water.

Just Married
After the ceremony, Erin and Geordie walked back down the aisle together while their guests celebrated around them.
That moment right after the ceremony always feels special. The nerves are gone, the vows are done, and suddenly everyone is just celebrating the fact that these two people are now married.

Family portraits followed outside Kidogo Arthouse, along with one big group photo where everyone gathered together.

Portraits Around Fremantle
After the family photos, we slipped away for a few portraits around Fremantle.
This part of the day is always relaxed. No timelines, no pressure, just a quiet moment for the couple to take everything in.
We wandered along the boardwalk, explored paths near Bathers Beach, and took advantage of the soft golden light that started to appear as the afternoon turned into evening.

Reception at Kidogo Arthouse
Back inside Kidogo Arthouse, guests were already settling in for the reception.
The historic stone walls, warm lighting and buzzing atmosphere created the perfect setting for the evening.
Speeches began soon after everyone was seated.
Stories were shared, laughter filled the room, and there were a few emotional moments, too.

Cake, Dancing and One Big Celebration
Soon it was time to cut the cake.

And once the dance floor opened, the energy in the room changed instantly.
Friends, family, kids and grandparents all joined in.
People danced, laughed and celebrated the way only weddings seem to encourage.

One Last Moment by the Ocean
Later in the evening, we stepped outside for a quiet moment by the water.
The sky had turned deep blue, and the ocean had become calm and reflective.
Just Erin and Geordie for a moment.
A kiss, the sound of waves, and the feeling that the day had unfolded exactly the way it was meant to.

Moments like these are exactly why I love photographing weddings.
